Quality inspection not required at first GR

Hi Gurus,

I have a scenario for which i need your expert views :

Goods receipt at port storage location of plant say 1111, then transferred to RM storage location of same plant i.e.1111 with freight addition to incorporate in MAP of the material. But Quality inspection will be done after goods receiving at RM location. How to skip the quality inspection while GR at port storage location.

GR material stock at port location(1111) .Logically you can't do QI at port location,it will be definetely in plant location.

Later after receiving material at plant location,You can do Quality inspection.

Thanks for the reply.. but my query is still un-answered.. i.e. how to maintain the quality master in this case so that the system should allow the inspection at plant location only, and not a the time of receiving at port..

Hi,

1) u can try by using movement types 103 and 105.

2) for 01 quality lot remove from material and only use 05 in material master, and maintain inspection lot for this inspection lot.

so when material trasfreesd from one sloc to another sloc then 05 will get activate and will be in quality.

then after qulaity approves the lot it will move to unrestricted.

You can do this be setting inspection types for the material.

Set inspection type as 05-Other receipts , so on stock transfer it will create inspection lot. and don't use inspection type "01-Goods Receipt Insp. for Purchase Order" so that not lot will be created after GR against PO.

Thanks for the reply. Kindly clarify few more queries in this regard..

1. If we set the Insp type as 05-Other Goods rcpt, how the system will allow us do the Q.Insp at the 2nd receiving point only (i.e. after GR at manufacturing plant and not at the port location) - just would like to know the settings

2. The same material is received directly at manufacturing plant storage location also i.e. "GR insp for Order". How shall we maintain both Insp types for the same material.
