Dear Expertise,

Our system time SAP is behind from system time in our Active Directory about 30 minutes. Can our SAP system time be accelerated so our SAP system time is same with system time in AD?

what should we note?

Our OS is HP-UX 11.31, SAP R/3 4.7 and Oracle 10g.

Thanks in advance,

Ros

Hi Toni,

SAP and the DB picks up the time from the OS. i hope the time at ur OS is 30 mins lesser than that of ur AD. If it is the case, stop SAP and Db and then update the time at the OS by issuing the date command and then start the DB as well as SAP.

I hope this will solve ur issue.

Hi Varadhu,

I'm curious about something, can we made SAP System time same as AD system time if the different more than 30 minutes behind?

is there any problem with that, because I read that if the different bigger than 30 minutes SAP will not nork

is it true?

thank you

No, SAP will work even after a big change in time . But you need to make sure that the SAP and DB are shutdown while making the changes at the OS level.

Why ? Do you have a system in different time zones? If system's are in one time zone and network you must always

synchronize time in your network for all server's and PC's ...

Now you need to check the time on server are +30min from AD or -30 ? In any case before you do some ntpdate

in your situation you need stop SAP and database application, after do it.

In the future you need to set up automatic synchronization. Regards.
