ODATA Service - Maximum Message Size CPI

Hi,

We are working on a scenario to fetch a large amount of data from a third party application using odata services.I am aware that we can design the scenario to fetch the data in chunks via multiple calls. But would want to understand the max threshold or payload size can a single call handle.

Is there a limit to how much data CPI can handle for one call. Is there a official SAP documentation or something which is available that talks about the max load that CPI can handle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any pointers on pros and cons for Single vs Multiple calls would be greatly appreciated.
