Hi Abhi,

Schema and PCR are building blocks of Payroll,

Tcode PE01,PE02 and PDSY tcode will be useful.

It is recomended to copy stdandar schema and rename it to cust specific (prefix with Z)

there are some execellnt ref guides online ..steve Bogner one for wage types for instance.

please check 521w_o and 512w_d,t52c5 tables for pclass, eclass and cclass,schema,pcr's..its very important becuase it control characterisitics of wagetypes like participation in payroll processing or not just for example.

succintly speaking schema contains list of commands that should be performed by payroll program.

they would normally have the line number ,function,par1,..4 ,D,text..if we would like to comment of a function the corresponding line can be marked asterix.

par1,4 are parameters depdning on the function we enter in the first column.

Functions performe a broader role companed to PCR's.list of functions you can check tcode-PE04 for all the list of operrations and functions.

WPBP is a function for example..

however there are some which are functions and operations and hoe does the system handle this ..its prefixed by FU and OP .

there are lot of referencee guides online to help you understand the schema, pcr etc.I will be happy to share it with you, please feel free to let me know.

Hope this helps.

No Worries

Please search this Discussion Forum, SAP's documentation and other website before you post general questions.

If you have access to the configuration of schemas, you can use the help provided in t-codes pe01 (schema), pe02 (rules) and pe04 (functions/operations) to learn some more.

If you do not have that access but can execute Time Evaluation or Payroll Calculation, you can do a simulation (or test) with one employee and turn on the Log (or Protocol). That protocol will detail everything that happened in the process, like what values came from an infotype and where and how a WT was processed.

Would need more details to answer but I can suggest the following:

It is possible that the wage types you are talking about is processed in a PCR (Rule). If you change the processing class/ cumulation setting, it can haappen that the wage type won't be picked up for processing.

However, if you provide more details, an exact reponse can be given.

Look at the payroll log for the relevant periods and this will give you a fair idea.

Your second question was:

If a wage type has been processed once and we did some changes in it for next payroll period.but this time while running payroll that wage type not picked up. what could be the reason??

If the changes were done to the WT characterists (in the configuration tables), you will have to force retroactive payroll calculation to the date of your change.

If the changes were done to the WT values in an infotype, you should look at the settings for that infotype since significant changes should trigger automatic retroactive calculation of Payroll (same for Time).
