Post documents into FI, PCA and CO-PA via ALE

Hi experts this request could probably go in either this or the ALE forum so I am trying this one first. Basically we are currently sending Finance data from SAP system A to SAP system B via ALE using Idocs FIDCMT, PCROLL and CODCMT. It works ok except when one or more of the interfaces fails in which case we have consistency issues in SAP GL between FI, PCA and CO-PA.

We are now replacing SAP system A with a 3rd party product and want to send the data to our SAP GL via SAP XI Idoc adapter. I just wanted to know if, instead of using 3 separate Idocs for posting into SAP GL, we can use just one Idoc that will post the journals into FI and perform the associated postings into PCA and CO-PA? (i.e same as if you were posting the journal manually into GL or posting via direct input).

This would not only be easier but would remove consistency issues if one or more of the 3 separate Idoc interfaces fails. I checked various websites and am minded to use an Idoc called IDOC_ACC_GL_POSTING but notice that people have had various issues with this.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

The most common (known) issue is the limitation of 999 line items per document.

You have to make sure that you do not exceed the limit of 999 line items per document, since this BAPI uses business transaction RFBU. Refer to note 36353 for more information.
