Dynamic Price Change/Update within Material Ledger

Hello Experts,

I try to release the standard price using dynamic price change within Material Ledger. After the stock postings (MType 202 against CTR) I do not see any result (the old standard price is still valid).

Below there are steps I performed with the sequence:

  1. config dynamic price change (OMX5)
  2. standad costing for the material (CK11N) with the 'costing date from' 26th Feb
  3. marking (not release) of standard costing (CK24) - Planned price updated with 02/2019 (Costing 2 view)
  4. Good Receipt ot that material with the date 27th Feb with MType 202 (against cost center)

It was the first movement in the period Feb/19 for the material. MM period is open, CO also, FI accounts as well.

I would expect the current standard price will be replaced by the planned price (the marked standard costing price). It is not the case. I can see only one document (stock increase) valuated with the old standard price.

What is missing in the steps above to get the update of standard price using dynamic price change/release while first material movement in the period Feb/2019.

Thanks, Regards

Szymon

Dear Szymon,

Check the discussion material ledger:Dynamic Release of Planned Prices

For more information, I recommend you to have a look in the consulting note 757732 - INFORMATION: Using the dynamic release

Also check if the OSS note is applied in your system: 551956 - MODIFICATION NOTE: Dynamic release

Thanks for the links.

However I still cannot release the standard costing and update the price at the same time with the first material movement in the period. I costed and marked the material in Feb/19 with the Costing Date from March 1st. I tired to backflush but it was the message (no valid standard costing) since this material did not have any valid standard costing from the past.

Is it possible to release the standard cost estimate and update the standard price with the first movement in the new period (dynamic price change/release) at the same time?

So far I could only execute the costing and marking then maintain the future price (CKMPRPN) with the marked standard price (Future planned price as the base). In that case the new standard price no longer would correspond to the planned price based on the marked costing.

Thanks

Dear Szymon,

This is the purpose of the Dynamic Price Release... for me it work perfectly, the first good movement, the price is released. In the change log of the material you will see the MR21 changing the standard cost, check(MB1A with the movement 202,):

Maybe it´s missing something for you. Please, check the OSS 757732 - INFORMATION: Using the dynamic release carefully to understand the how it works.

Dear Gabriel,

thanks for some hints and example. Just one more question from my side - Was the standard cost estimate also released during the first movement in March or just only standard price that could come from Future price (accounting1 view) and not from Planned prices (costing 2 view). In the second case the marked cost estimate is the base for the dynamic price change.

Thanks a lot

Dear Szymon,

The process is:

Calculate Cost CK11N or CK40N -> Mark(Future Plan Price) CK24 or CK40N -> Release(Standard Cost) CK24 or CK40N or Dynamic Release

In any case Dynamic Release or CK24/CK40N, you should have the Future Plan Price defined.
