I need to upload data for asset (ABUMN), how to handle the similar fields like ANLN1 is used for the asset from which the value / qty is to be transferred and ANLN1 is field where the value / qty is to be posted. How to handle this in LSMW

Simple:

Keep the fields as they are for "Transfer From Asset". Example: ANLN1

Change the field names of the "Transfer To Asset". Example: ANLN12

One more example on how to change the name of the field:

Suppose you are uploading the G/L Line items and you have both Debits and Credits. You will have the same fields of Assignment and Text in both the Debit and Credit. In this case, will keep the debit line item fields like as they are and change the credit ones.

Debit: BSEG-ZUONR and BSEG-SGTXT

Credit: BSEG-ZUONR1 and BSEG-SGTXT1.

This works. Please try and confirm.

Dear Konnipati,

That's exactly what is did, the just changed the names of the Fields and created the LSMW; it worked wonderfully.

Dear Fawad,

Currently I'm facing the same issue. Where do you changed the field names?

Once the recording is completed and all the fields are set as Default all, change the field name as _1 or anything from standard field.

That's the issue I met, thank you!!!

OK, you can try doing the LSMW using old transaction code ABUM - see https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3885814

Searching also shows a 3rd party solution, but I have no experience: https://www.winshuttle.com/solutions-sap/business-process/cost-management/asset-transfer-abumn/

LSMW has been corrected and uploaded successfully by making changes in the recording fields.

Before doing an LSMW, are you sure it is necessary? Check the "multiple assets" push button on the ABUMN screen:

Yes, I am sure that LSMW is necessary, as we have to upload Transfer Posting transactional data for more than 4600 assets.
