Hi All,
I have 3 user groups defined in CMC for 3 regions say Germany,Austria and United Kingdom. I also have 3 classes created in the universe which belongs to these 3 regions say GE,AT,UK. I want to apply object restriction on these user groups.Object restrictions will be as follows
Group Germany - Restricted Class - AT & UK
Group Austria - Restricted Class - DE & UK
But now if i have one user who belongs to both the groups Germany as well as Austria then it will lead to security conflict. How do i resolve this? I am using BO XI 3.1
Thanks,
Shweta.
Ok..Here is my scenario.
If I have user name say 'A' and he is a member of 2 user groups, Germany & Austria so ideally he should see 2 classes in the universe i.e. DE & AT. But as explained earlier if I apply the object level restrictions as below
Group Germany - Restricted Class - AT & UK
Group Austria - Restricted Class - DE & UK
then it will lead to security conflict. Am I correct or I am missing something here?
Thanks,
Shweta.

Go to the "Manage Access Restriction" in the universe, select the Restriction name then click on the Cog wheel icon on the lower right hand side of the MAR window, there click the radio button which says "....... OR between Groups" . I dont remember the exact text but it has "OR between Groups" in the statement. click ok and apply. This should work for you.
Hi Sheta,
If a user belongs to the Germany and Austria group he will be able to see the UK & AT and DE classes in your universe.
Can you let us know what you would expect to happen in this scenario? This makes it easier for us to assist you.
Regards
Rim
