Auto generation of GLN Numbers in SAP

Hi All

Has anybody implemented a solution for the automatic generation of GLNs in SAP when creating new sites/stores (SAP IS-R) ?

I know we can maintain GLNs in table EAN_GLN and must also maintain the number ranges.

Do we have to do custom development for the auto generation ? Do we maintain the number range to include the check digit ? Also, there is some logic in our GLN which means that we have to maintain multiple number ranges for site creation - as these sites are located in different geographical regions.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.
