Employees could not be linked

IT31 is used to link sap numbers to each other in cases when an employee has been working for Organisation in two different countries, for example has worked in Norway (20xxxxxx) and then moves to Denmark (90xxxxxx). The purpose is to get history data in place from old pers no for the new pers no also.

Now it seems that when trying to use Create function in IT31 through PA30, it does not work - nothing is being saved.

Here's an example person who used to work in Norway but is now working in Denmark:

old sap no 20xxxxxx

new sap no 90xxxxxx

We are not able to link sap numbers

The reference link between the personnel numbers has not been created.

When a new pernr is assigned to the employee, if the link is not associated at that time (through reference pernr), this new pernr is already assigned with a different central person than the one for the old pernr. Therefore, SAP would not be able to link these two perns through IT0031.

To link the two perns, you'll need to first delete central person from the new pern (using SAP function 'HR_DELETE_CENTRAL_PERSON'), then create the link between the two pernrs through IT0031.

actually new pern no is already assigned. and when we create infotype 0031 and assign the ref per. no such issue comes up.

about the central person , it is not there

I had the same issue.

Solution: I just linked the per numbers in the opposite direction (from the old per number to the new one). The issue occurred because the Central Persons of the old per numbers had some relationships linked to them, hence they could not be deleted (the CP of a per number is automatically deleted after the number is referenced to another CP).

The CP of the new created number had no relationships and could be deleted, so the reference in IT31 from the old per number to the new one could be created without any issues.
