Hi,

due an error we have lost / filesystem... home directory, /usr/sap, /Oracle, ecc. are saved and already restored.

Can I hope to run SAP istancies? ... or do we must prece as system copy?

Hi Ganimede,

If you manage to restore the filesystems and have them intact as it was before the failure, there should not be any issue in bringing up the database.

NB: Hope you did not have any issues with the FS's related to DB. If its not the case, then u may have to restore the database using the last successful DB backup and recover the logs till the point of failure.

SAP istances, Oracle, ecc. was regulary shutted down without problem, we have lost root filesystem amd /var, ecc.

So you need to recover those, especially /etc and /var/opt/oracle

If you can't then start with a setup and do a system copy.
