Wrong determination of material tax classification

I have a scenario here is that, material is extended to 2 plants and both the plants belongs to the country DE. when the sales order is raised customer is from Italy, for that material, tax classification for Italy is maintained as '2'. At the time of sales order raising with one plant correct material tax classification 2 is determined, when the plant is changed to the other plant it is determining material tax classification as '1'. where as material tax classification '1' is maintained for the country DE not For italy.

Is the sales area of that material in both the plants same ?? It should be in line with your sale order sales area.

    thanks

    • Hello Lakshmipathi and krishna,

Material which is extended for 2 plants has the same material tax classification maintained, only at the time of punching the sales order, by default correct material tax classification is taking, if we change it to other plant then material tax classifcation is wrong.

tax classification for Italy is maintained as '2

I missed this line when I posted last time. I presume this is for customer. You cannot maintain tax classification country wise in material master. May be you would have seen customer tax classification at header level.

    thanks
