Java communication error:RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist

Hi all,

I'm upgrading ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 with EHP4/NW701.

I'm at roadmap step Post-processing - phase CHK_POSTUP. The SAPup tells me that there're errors occurred during the upgrade & intructs me to check file LONGPOST.LOG.

In file LONGPOST.LOG there're lots of lines like below:

A2PERSTCO_UT 003 An error occurred while activating BW object <xxx>

Accroding to SAP Note 1227759, I try to apply correction but failed (current SAP system has SAP_BW 701 003, maybe no need to apply the correction because correction 661334 for 701 in the Note indicates that SAPKW70101-SAPKW70102 is valid). Next, I try to run TCode RSTCO_ADMIN to correct the error, but failed with error "Java communication error:RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist.".

Using TCode RSD1 I find that all InfoObjects are active.

In fact, the SAP system has ABAP only, no Java. So now I WONDER WHETHER I SHOULD IGNORE THIS BW OBJECTS / JAVA COMMUNICATION ERROR!

Please give your advice if you experienced this situation.

Thanks,

Hi,

Regarding the errors:

A2PERSTCO_UT 003 An error occurred while activating BW object

These errors can be ignored per sap note:

824109

834280

To correct the errors please review steps to run RSTCO_ADMIN.

If you are not using SAP_BW, you can ignore messages. Otherwise

errors do not cause problems during the upgrade,

however, you should analyze them in more detail before you start using

the production system.

After the upgrade and after you call the BW for the first time, check

whether the installation of the technical content was successful. To do

this, start Transaction RSTCO_ADMIN.

Because you are upgrading your system to ERP6.0, you can ignore these errors.

With Best Regards

Julia

Hi Toan,

Did you ignore the error messages regarding BW objects not being activated in the ECC 6.0 upgrade?

Is the upgrade process successful?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Pollyanna,

I tried to activate, 140 objs successful, but 11 objs unsuccessful. I went on the upgrade & it was ok.

Hi AP,

Lots of RFCs to check!

Someone said this error is because the RFC connection tries to establish connection between ABAP instance & Java instance.

The fact is I have NO Java instance!
