it looks like hana express, and maybe other editions too, comes with a predetermined expiration for xsa_dev user password, but the logon screen is not showing the password status. is hana studio still the only client that shows the password status for xsa_dev and allows the password (re-)creation?
what if one hadn't the studio preinstalled or would not have access to the latest studio installation file?
EDIT: this password seems subject to the same policy as every other password (except maybe for SYSTEM) and it comes preinstalled with default of only 7 days for initial passwords.
As you are using the HXE versions with applications also XS classic is available.
With that you can use the HANA Web-based development workbench to set/reset the passwords of your user. You can either use the SQL console (http://hxehost:8000/sap/hana/ide/catalog) or the Security application (http://hxehost:8000/sap/hana/ide/security) to do that.

You just need to configure https for XS classic. Then you should have no doubts anymore :-).
Hi url not working for me, any idea ? (http://hxehost:8000/sap/hana/ide/catalog) or the Security application (http://hxehost:8000/sap/hana/ide/security) so user xsa_dev not exit in Linux System and Eclipse Security area.
