We have an existing Personnel Change Request (PCR) application that is custom developed using BSP technology. This application is mostly used at this point by users on a desktop. However, in future we are anticipating approvals could be done using a mobile device. We would like to redo this application using the latest SAP UI technologies. So requesting your input on which is a better technology to use. That is SAP UI5 vs FPM & HCM forms and Processes (with webdynpro ABAP). HCM forms and processes might be a faster way to do it since we could use some of the SAP standard HCM forms & processes for Personnel requests like new hire etc. Also, we could reuse some of the underlying existing FMs etc. However, is it possible to reuse the same FMs and workflows using SAP UI5? What would be the efforts in UI5 vs the HCM forms in this scenario. In case of SAPUI5, it is pretty clear that we will have to do the screens from scratch incase of SAPUI5.
