Customizing standard personal details applications in ess

We have implemented ess.

The requirement is that whenever user updates any information in personal details a notification should go to the manager and once he approves it the infotypes should be updated.

We are using standard applications.Is it possible.

Also is it possible to keep the edit button disabled/ invisible for permanent address and enabled/visible for official and temporay address in standard address application.
