Email, SMS Campaings using SAP Marketing

Hi Experts,

I am currently trying to enable the campaign scenario via e-mail and sms in SAP Marketing On premise Version 1809 on a Hana. Is it necessary for this scenario to have CPI? Additionally, sendings are made through an external provider.

Thanks in advance

Hi Oriana,

I believe that SAP Cloud Platform is positioned here as an example for middleware choice. If it means additional licensing for you and you want to get away with it, you can simply send your requests to your service provider.

Personally, in one of our project, we just developed a new service provider adapter for our service provider. We didn't have to change anything for the rest of the configuration (for example, e-mail action..)

Hello Oriana,

We are having a similar kind of requirement, do you have any information in this?

Thanks,

Hi Pawan,

In effect, we do not use CPI for this integration. Only one message class or adapter was configured to connect with the generic provider.

Hello Oriana,

Email and SMS campaigns are executed via a Service Provider - you don't noeed CPI for the process. About the set up please refer to the online help:

Setting Up Service Provider for Emails and Text Messages

Hi Johannes!

thanks for your answer, now in the link that you send me in the section: Generic Email Integration in the map of the architecture there is a layer of SAP cloud platform, I understand that it is not the same to CPI but I wonder if it requires some kind of licensing additional?

Thanks in advance!
