How to make fields in Selection screen read only in C4C analytic reports

Hi Guys,

Like we see in standard reports , some of the fields like Access context, etc are read only.

Can we make a field in Selection as read only to avoid access to unnecessary data.

Lets say, agent should have access to only his data like "My Sales Orders", "My Tickets" etc.

We can hide that in C4C screens via Layout. But how do we restrict the selection filters in Analytic reports.

Hi Abdul,

Is it possible that you mean the "Default Value"?

When you set a default value in the report wizard, step 5, the end user can still change this value in the selection.

However if you set a fixed value selection in step 4 of the report wizard, the end user cannot change this anymore and they are also not able to add this field to the selection via "Add Fields". The report will always be run with the fixed selection that was defined.

Kind regards,

Hi Olga,

My field is not a dropdown field but text field. So unable to set Fixed value. I want to have the blank value as "Read Only" which should not be changed in selection screen. Is this possible?

Hi Abdul.
Good day.

Access Context cannot be redefined by end-user since it is possible only by Key User. However, I understood your point.

It is possible to restrict the filtering and to fix this value if you use “Fixed Value selection” when editing the report on Report Wizard or when creating a new view.
For many fields, you will be able to find relative selections as My Sales Orders, My Tickets or my org unit, etc, that you can use. However, it is variable depending of the field you may see different relative selections.
It will be challenging to create generic fixed value selection that would attend to group of users but understanding well what they should be able to see it will be possible to create. Specially if you split it in many different views to cover all possibilities that should have.

Hope it helps.

Best regards.

Hi Mirelle,

Using Fixed value selections, we are able to filter out and default report view to display "My Sales Orders"

However still end user is able to change this selection from Selection screen and display other's data which we want to restrict.

Is there any way to avoid that?
