I want to migrate some FMEA from one client to another via import and export function in FMEA cockpit. I manage to export into XML file and proceed to try import. I realize I need to open a new FMEA before I could use IMPORT function from menu Object->Import... After selecting XML file and execute import, nothing happens. Has anyone used IMPORT function in FMEA before? Please help.
Thanks
Paul
Paul,
The import/export functionality is not working for all the FMEA items as SAP has delivered half cooked solution. Infact, we are able to see the import/export option as FMEA sharing the Audit Management application. As a part of EHP5, SAP is going to provide the corresponding FM/BAPI's. Once they are avaialble, you need to impplement a BADI and utilize those FM's to get thsi functionality work. If you can't wait until those FM's are available, you have to develop your own FM's and implement the BADI then only it will work. We checked with SAP on this and they are not sure when they can release consulting note the way it is available for Audit Mgmt.
We are trying to use the import/export functionality for offline FMEA and to do the initial load, planning to develop our own FM and implement the BADI.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Ram

In fact, I just manage to import FMEA structures by first creating FMEA header level, import an XML (must have unique FMEA number for all levels) and save the new FMEA. I realize FMEA actions are not imported at all. I agree strongly with you that it is really half-cooked solution. Still waiting SAP to provide solution. May I know which enhancement needed to overcome this problem if we decide to work on it ourselves?
Thanks
Paul
