Where is the detailed Crytal Reports SDK documentation?

I am hoping someone can help me. I am looking for a detailed document/guilde that guides someone through the Crystal Reports SDK. My main curiosity is: With the latest version (i.e. Crystal Reports for Visual Studio), is the only way to view a crystal report is to use the crystal report viewer control? Or are there also API methods that one can call from C# code to do the same thing? I found the following link but I didn't really find documentation that answers my question.
