The problem we are facing is
1. We configured the universal work list in the port with target as the backend system as our development system
2. All approval developments which are custom objects are working
3. There is a standard leave application approval screen which comes up , now this works if I keep the webdynpro system as portal
4. When we change the system to backend system name , all other applications stop working and this leave approval starts working.
how can we resolve the issue?

For this you would need two system objects
An example to explain this
1. In the UWL connector settings modify the "Web Dynpro Launch System"
property to SAP_LocalSystem. This case the webdynpro uses the URL and
the port of the portal.>> I think this can suit you.
2. In the System Landscape create a new system with the same properties
as the R3_TEST1 but the WAS properties are different. After that you use
the name of the new system as "Web Dynpro Launch System" in the UWL
connector settings. This solution should be used if the SAP_LocalSystem
is different than the necessary WAS settings.
3. You can modify this setting in the configuration also under the
ItemType. You should add the system property and the UWL uses it instead
of the default one.

You need to Maintain the WAS property for the system Alias IM2
to Portal WAS and verify if you still get the Dump?
The dump you get is not related to this case. This is some other
error, re register your workitems and maintain properties
in the backend as per 779075 in SWFVISU.
First make sure your both application runs correctly, and then
do the above configuration.
