BI Content Translation

Hello

I have two language installed in my BW EHP1

- EN

- PT

i have two source system:

- ABC

- DEF

My whole infoproviders and InfoArea are in English language, but the Datasources and some infosources are in Portuguese language.

Which is the best way for put everything in Portuguese language ?

i tried active it again but, the infoproviders never change to portuguese, is always remaining in english..

Anyone can give me a solution for I solve this situation?

I am not sure BI content is provided in Portuguese language. Anyway try to login with PT(portuguese) and Install BI content(Make a Test for couple of objects) and check if they are provided in PT or EN ?

If they are not provided then you will have to change all the the descriptions to PT for infoproviders.

im using PT language for default

i have some infoareas and infocubes/ods some infoobjects in english.. but the datasources, rules and some other in portugueses... its like half and half...........

@LuisSales: im basis/bw guy ...

so its possible i unnistall de BI COntent and install it whole again??

what i have to do?

I think try to uninstall BI Content and make sure languague is installed in Portuguese and Install BI_content ?

It's a trail I'm not sure If it works but should give a trail to make sure

Well, you can update the BI_CONT by downloading it and installing it in BW... That's the Basis part...

Once that is done, the new version objects can be activated (installed) in BW...

The thing with this is that this content will overwrite any other content you had previously... So you'd have to check, among other things, what custom developments could be impacted... Also, in order to transport, depending on the changes, you'd have to delete data and make some extensive testing to make sure everything is fine...

That can be quite a task... I don't think you want to go through that, I wouldn't advice it... At least if the only reason for doing it is to change the description in your objects... Just change it directly in the specific objects and you'll be done faster and with less risk...

I'm not Basis, but as far as I know, you can't...

All you could do is delete the existing structures (InfoCubes, InfoSources, etc.), update the BI_CONT component and then install all structures you need from it...

Nope... You gotta delete taking into account dependencies since objects can't be deleted if they're used somewhere else so it can be a very tedious work... Sometimes some objects get deleted "automatically" like in the case of queries when you delete an InfoCube, for example...

You could just rename them... Right click, "Change" and change the description... I think it's faster than reinstalling Business Content...

Check with your Basis guys... Not sure if SAP provides the BI_CONT component in different languages (I guess they do)... In that case, since Portuguese is defined as valid language in your system they could install it directly in Portuguese... That way when you activate any of the structures, the descriptions would be in Portuguese already...

Again, not 100% sure of BI_CONT available in different languages since I've used only English...

But again, if all you need is to change your descriptions to Portuguese, reactivating the Business Content for your existing structures is too much, in my opinion... For new developments, definitely...
