OB29 FY Varinat

Dear Experts,

Below is OB29 Screen under FY variant V3 which is having 4 periods as Special Period but the same is not maintained under "Periods" as Month Day Period and Year shift but it is maintained under period texts.

My Question is

1. Why we don't maintain under period?

2. If not maintained then How functionally the posting made

3. How the Financial statement updated functionally

Please explain functionally not technically.

    In addition to Eli's answer.

Special periods can only be posted on the last period of the fiscal year( generally 12th).

    Kind Regards

Special periods are called this way 'special', because they are not linked to a calendar. These are periods of a fiscal year and not of calendar year. The posting in these periods would happen in the fiscal year, where the posting date belongs to the last period linked to a calendar. For basic functional information about 'special periods' in SAP, you can try and browse; the info on this matter is quite exhaustive.

P.S. Please, don't be upset by downvoting of your question; this is part of the platform activity and shouldn't be taken personally. Forum members who downvote or upvote a thread are not engaged in explaining the reasons for their actions.

    • Hello Eli, what i understood from the link given Gustavo is that we can define 16 posting period ( 4 as special) under period section and posting can be done manually in f-02 by editing the positng period, correct me if i am wrong.

PS:- I am upset because instead of answering someone is wasting their time and marking as my question unwanted simply i dont know answer thats why i choose the platform i googled but dint got answer.
