Integrate .Net Applications in SAP Portal

Hi friends,

Can anyone tell me what are the pre-requisites for integrating .NET Applications in SAP Portal

and can anyone also tell if I want to show the .NET applications of news in SAP Enterprise Portal how can I achieve that

We are basically using MOSS Portal where all the news are being created we just want to publish that same news in SAP Portal

and my second question would be we have orders residing on SAP ECC and CRM systems how can we show that data in .NET applications

Means if anyone can tell me the pre-requisites and the integration steps for

Data in .NET Application --> display it in SAP Systems and

Data in SAP System --> display it in .NET Application

Regards

JM

    Hi John,

    wrt Data in SAP System --> display it in .NET Application

    the short answer is; it depends....

    • Do you simple want to display the SAP data readonly ? Or read/write?

    • only SAP data, or expose SAP business functionality

    • what type of .NET application ? SharePoint, WPF, Silverlight, BizTalk.. ?

    • what are the requirements on User Experience front ?

    • is it BI data / functionality?

    The second most basic form of portal integration is portal embedding (portal launch naturally being the most basic...): Display SAP screens in SharePoint via iview / iframe.

    More advanced integration involves technologies like:

    • BDC [SharePoint 2007] / BCS [SharePoint 2010] for exposing SAP data into .NET apps

    • Web Services

    • SAP Enterprise Services

    • BizTalk WCF LOB Adapter SDK

    On this forum you can find several helpful directions and decision / advice rationale. You can search ao. for some of my replies on earlier posts.

    wrt Data in .NET Application --> display it in SAP Systems

    Well, you have the SAP .NET Portal Development Kit, to implement SAP Portal screens within .NET;

    You can integratie SharePoint pages via iframe approach;

    You can consume [.NET based] webservices in SAP NetWeaver;

    You can consume SQL data via SAP BW;

    Best regards, William.
