Workflow controlled Transports did not result in correct agent determination

Workflow controlled Transports were enabled and the corresponding rules responsibilities were created. When the transport was released Transport Proposal screen popped up as expected and the proposal was created. The workflow started and placed the approval work item in the incorrect agent's inbox.

I've checked my rules responsibility config and expect it to go to another user but it is falling to the catchall user I defined in the event that an agent can not be determined.

How do I troubleshoot the workflow to determine where the issue is?

Any help much appreciated!

Hi,

Please do a rule simulation in OOCU_RESP, if this yields the correct users then probably you need to refresh the HR buffers with SWU_OBUF.

However, since this was posted 4 days ago I assume the problem should be resolved because those buffers are refreshes everyday at midinight.

Hi Rob,

Yes I've done a rules simulation in OOCU_RESP and it works perfectly -- it assigns the correct agent. But when I trigger the workflow the work item does not go to the correct agent's inbox. It goes to the catchall agent I assigned that when no responsibilities are selected.

Also i have cleared buffers numerous times with SWU_OBUF and still the wrong results.

Is there anywhere I can trace the rules responsibilities where I can see where it is failing to pickup the wrong agent.

Your help much appreciated. Thx!

Hi Lui,

you should check the technical workflow log to see if the parameters sent to the rule are correct. also check the typing of your parameters this could cause the aforementioned problems.

Hi Rob,

I checked the parameters in the technical log container tab and the ones that determine the agent seem to be correct to me in terms of value and type. In the Transport Workflow the Target System, Target Client, and CTS Project determine the agent.

I'm not sure where to look to see if they are getting to the rule correctly. Where do you look to see the parameters are sent to the rule correctly?

Hi,

  1. I would suggest you to start your checking from PFAC transation where you would end up pasing the required information to resolve the responsibilities.
  2. Check the organizational object to which the task ID is assigned. I mean is there any chnage with the position or the assigned users to the HR Object of the org structure.

Thanks

Pavan

Hi Paven,

@1 - The rule simulation in PFAC yields the correct result yet when I trigger the workflow it does not assign the work item to the correct agent.

@2 -- I am using the Transport Workflow -- it only has rule responsibilities setup -- I didn't think the org objects would have anything to do with it since I don't think there was any task id assignment to org object in this workflow. But I could be wrong -- let me know if I am.

Is there anyplace I can look for agent determination/rules-responsibility trace?

Thx!
