Hi all

In RSRT we see only variables created with BEX 3.5

We are in BW 7.3

Any ideas?

Hi Shlomi,

yes, that is the depending on the display mode... in RSRT the HTML and the List mode have not changed, they are still using the old 3.5 runtimes (BEx and Web ABAP), therefore these two execution modes still fetch the old variants and if you save a variant in RSRT in these display modes, this will also be an old one in the old table.... Only the 'new' frontends BEx Analyzer and BICS JAVA runtime use the new variant table....

Cheers,

Nora

Thanks Nora

That is strange but I understand

Our actual problem is coming from KELR transaction in ECC which is used for retraction process and it consumes a Bex query with Variants and it is also sees onky the old Variants and not the new ones

Hi Shlomi,

do you mean variables or variants in RSRT?

For variants there was a change between releases, see some more details here:

1857889 - Variant framework behaviour when executed in RSRT \ Java Web

For variables, which execution mode are you using, in the HTML display mode, you might need to type the variable_screen=X in the text box for forcing the variable screen.

Cheers,

Nora

Thanks for the correction Nora

I'm talking about Variants and nor Variables

I've read the note that you have mentioned but it doesn't help me to clear things up.

I understand the difference between the 2 approaches of 3.5 and 7

but I fail to understand why transaction RSRT is still looking on the old Variants table - RSRVARIANT in stead if the new one - RSRPARAMETRIZA

Is that the right way that the system should work?

Is table RSRVARIANT still relevant in BW 7?

Thanks
