Workflow - Setting Opportunity Expected Value from last saved quote

I have a question for the experts. We have an inside sales team that is responsible for creating quotations. We would like to know if its possible to create a workflow rule, that would allow us to copy the last saved quote amount into the Opportunity Expected Value. We are looking for a way to automate this so that the sales managers do not have to enter the amount for forecasting. While we know that quote amounts will be different, this is close enough for us to forecast. I've searching in forums and wiki; but haven't found if this is technically possible.

Hello Tony,

From standards, you will not be able to achieve this specific scenario. We do not have a standard variable that points to the last quote created ID, for example (needed for such logic). You are in need of a more deep logic that should be evaluated using a custom implementation. However, the motivation behind your request here seem to improve the overall process involving forecasts. Take a few minutes to write it down in our Customer Influence Site so that our Product Managers can evaluate it and other customers/SAP peers (like me) can vote it up. I did a couple of searches there and I could not see similar request published. Share the link here and my vote you will get (and many others I believe) 😉
