Issue with Universe after Upgrade to BO4.2 SP05

Hello Experts,

We have recently upgraded from BO4.2 SP03 Patch 3 to SP05. After Upgrade we are having issue with BI platform CMS system Database Universe which we use for system auditing. This Universe was pulled online, below is the error we are getting when we try to create any report based on this Universe:

Query script generation failed. See your administrator. Specified RDBMS is invalid : SAP BI platform CMS system database

Universe and connection looks fine when we check from IDT.

What could be the issue ?

Do we have to download new BI platform CMS system Database universe for SP05 and upload it to repository?

Since BI 4.2 SP04, the CMS DB Driver is part of the installer, which was not the case in BI 4.2 SP03.
When upgrading from BI 4.2 SP03 to a newer version, the driver is uninstalled and must be installed using the setup as described in the note:

2505827 - Cannot find BusinessObjects OpenConnectivity driver (CMS DB Driver) in Information design tool.

Have you installed any of the patches for SP05? IIRC, there were several issues with the base install of this SP and this may be one of them. The patches are cumulative, so you would just install the latest one.

It looks like the CMS driver was not installed correctly or is missing

Check that and reinstall it again.

see my Answer for how to check if CMS DB Driver are installed and how to install it manually if necessary

    • First: Restart the ConnectionServer in the CMC (to load the changed drivers).

Second, verify that you correctly configure the connection that you use in the CMS universe

Third, make sure you use the most recently exported CMS universe (Make sure you close the report editor completely and then restart it to get the most recently exported universe.)
