Hello,

Does anyone know if when you synchronise outlook and sap, it will create a contacts list from the BPs that is then shared by eveyone or does it have to synch to every individual outlook?

Many thanks,

Kate

Hello,

Thank you for the information however i'm still not quite clear on this. When I synchronise contacts from SAP to Outlook, in the setup it asks me which folder I want the contacts to synch to - i chose my personal contacts folder. If this is chosen, surely the contacts wont get synchronised for all users?

Thanks,

Kate

To answer your question in the simplest way Gordon is correct.

There is some cases where outlook can share contact information on its own server(depending on the a bunch of software configuration). This could create a more automatic solution, but requires rarely used Microsoft products.

The outlook intgration might put too many contacts in outlook if you have several BP. My company we have over 8000 customers and 500 vendors. The best thing is to setup filters and limit what get updated on the client PCs.

Updates are only done when a user clicks the syncronise button, so most of the time B1 will be filled with the latest contact information.

I find 8.8 does a better job of integration with outlook.

I saw a video on the web where a complex share point configuration was used to share information ago the users. This is good if not all your knowledge workers have access to B1.

Hello Kate,

The contacts list will synch with SAP server. Therefore, it eventually would synch to all clients.

Thanks,

Gordon
