Hi,

Integrated business planning (IBP), which work with different time profile levels and time horizons, may use the same planning area. Therefore, the values of the common key figures must be aggregated and disaggregated across different time levels.

The aggregation and disaggregation of data across different time levels can be realized by a specific modeling concept, which is built on the modeling of time profile levels with multiple parents and that of intermediate levels without parents.

A planning level enables you to analyze and plan at a specific aggregation level, for example, at the planning level period-product-customer. Key figures in SAP Integrated Business Planning are calculated or stored at specific planning levels, and their values can be queried at these planning levels. Depending on the planning level – that is, the specific set of attributes that is used in a key figure query – different calculation and/or aggregation steps are performed to compute the key figure numbers at that level. These calculation/aggregation steps are specified in the calculation definitions of the key figure.

Hello Lingaiah,

Thanks for your so good explanation. Actually I am learning Integration planning from scratch so I have a lot of questions. So can I ask questions in this following thread??

Hi,

Can you provide more details about your question?

Do you want to know why aggregation levels are important in integrated business planning (IBP) in general or Inventory Optimizer?

Hi Lin,

I wanted to know why aggregration levels are important in IP in general , not for Inventory Optimizer.
