SAP BPC US elimination

Hi experts,

we are setting up an US elimination in SAP BPC 10.1, and I am just wondering how many elimination accounts would we need. I was thinking to create 4 elimination accounts to have one from each account type, does that make sense?

Thanks,

Tomas.

Again, ACCTYPE is not directly related to elimination account. For sure you will have different elimination accounts for P&L and BS accounts, but the rest depends on actual chart of accounts!

P.S. Ask accountant to provide you sample elimination matrix with some figures!

P.P.S.:

In the model data is stored with real accounting sign and only in reports is shown with the sign depending on ACCTYPE!

Ex.:

INC in the model: -5 on the report: 5

EXP in the model: 5 on the report: 5

Elimination rule is working with the real values in the model!

Hi Tomas,

for US elimination - dependent on your chart of account and even business requirement. example from P&L to BS need elimination to create IC_DIV (elim.dividend income) , like which sources account , source flow and destination all account - should make plug_offset

  • COMMENTS:- In above business rule IC diff. a/c GL 11030003b is copied to FCTR a/c GL 30030002B and other leg reduces from the IC diff a/c ( same account is negating it ).
  • Example:- P&L – expense 10, selling 20 =total 30
Lability Amount Assets Amount share captial 100 receivable 100 retain earing 130 fx assets 100 current Lia. 100 miss. 100 FCTR -30 300 300

It depends on the financial requirements! Elimination accounts are not directly related to account types. Talk with finance people.

Thanks Vadim, I was just wondering if the elim account type does not correspond to the eliminated ACCOUNT type if it would not be an issue.
