What degree needed?

Hi

I am confused.

Does one need a MBA degree to get job in SAP SD?

BTW,I am a B.Sc. graduate in pure science .

I am pursuing MBA HR but i have near to 5 yrs pharma sales experience.

And I am doing SAP SD module.

Is it wrong choice?

Should i have done in HR module?

But i dont have any experience in HR.

Actually i took MBA HR because at that time i didn't have any plan to do SAP.Also i wanted to shift to HR field.

So if i do SAP SD ,should i not mention the MBA HR i am pursuing?

Thanks in advance.

If you have interests for HR, why don't you try your hand/purse your career in SAP HR.

Even you can correlated what you are learning in MBA HR.

[_Some SAP HR FAQs_|http://www.sap-img.com/human/sap-hr-interview-questions.htm]

[_Overview on SAP Modules_|http://www.thespot4sap.com/articles/sap_modules.asp]

Even when your looking for placements after your MBA, knowledge in SAP HR module will assist you in getting good and relevant job for you.

To conclude, I would not suggest you to change professional direction so often. If change has to happen, let it happen once.

All the best and take care.

Thanks & Regards

No I am pursuing a distance MBA in HR. So shifting to SAP HR career will not be so easy.

And i dont have exp in HR field as well.

Rather i wud stick to marketing and not get into HR.

But will my MBA in HR create any problem in the a SAP SD interview?

since you are doing MBA in distance mode its not a big problem, you don't have a gap in your work experience,so concentrate on your SD career and if they particularly ask the question "why you chose MBA Hr ' then tell some reason like its also one of my interested area,or my in previous company/job requires both marketing and some hr skills or in future i want to be a Manager with both by sales, marketing and HR skills to improve my skills i chosen this.

otherwise don't mention your MBA details if its not related to company, some institutes ask written permission from working company, otherwise don't mention it But it's an added advantage.

But presently i have left my pharma sales job and pursuing both MBA HR and SAP SD . I am doing MBA from Sikkim Manipal university.

I am doing SAP from not an authorized center. And now there will be gap in experience?

So what should i do?

Also should I change my MBA specialization to Marketing?

Pls advice me.

do what you are really interested! why you chosen MBA it's not based on interest then move to any other if you know/want what you are doing.if you are good in SD then MBA hr is not really a much thing, is SD also your interested module or you want to do it based on any other. if in the interview they ask why you change from HR to Marketing then you should able to answer,

Keep MBa a side concentrate on SD training and getting a job. having 5+ years experience you now your abilities (pros, cons) concentrate on them. Dont much bother about a small gap (probably 6 months for training) for learning. i dont know about Sikim manipal Univ and their MBS structure

But can u pls tell me whether SAP from Futuresoft is good or bad?

Also, Should i change my stream to marketing from hr in mba?

1) i donno about futuresoft, but SAP's future is good, check with any MNC. 99% of them are using SAP and remaining are implementing it.getting a job may be some difficult but once you get the job you have a good growth with a short time in SAP. the fastest growth and high salary you can get from SAP.

2) you have a good experience in marketing/sales if you want to chose it as a career for life time then go for marketing, in future you want to enhance your skills in HR area also then go for HR. again it depends on you only, you are not interested in HR field and improve and strong in marketing field only then change to Marketing mba,
