InfoPackages extracting from BODS datasources - Advanced Parameters

Has anybody used the advanced parameters option within the 3rd party selelection tab of an InfoPackage when extracting from BODS ?

I was wondering what this was for and thought maybe it could be used for passing such information as the configuration you wish to use for the datastores within your BODS job. e.g. I am running an InfoPackage and the default configuration from my datastore is DEV and therefore this configuration is used. However, we have several other configurations for the datastores for QA, Pre Prod and Prod. If I want to use a different configuration I have to change this in the Designer. I thought maybe the advanced parameters could be used. Anybody have any experience with this option ?

    Hi Kevin,

if you like to trigger a BODS job by the SAP BW InfoPackage, then you can specify in the 3rd party selelection tab values as in the following example

    Repo/Jobname repository-user/jobname X CHAR 44

    JobServer jobserver CHAR 44

    Advanced_parameters -r50000 -Kspcfg_AB_CDEF_GHIJ CHAR 44

By exporting the execution command of a BODS job from the batch job configuration tab of the Data Service Management Console, you can find all relevant parameters in the exported file that you can use in the 3rd party selection of the InfoPackage

The repository user and job name is clear. These parameters are known.

The parameter inet:xyzabc specifies the jobserver, that you have to enter for the job execution

The parameter starting with -Kspabcdefghi (in our case, the system configuration are always starting with cfg, so you get -Kspcfg_abc_def...) holds the parameter for the system configuration that you like to call for the execution of your BODS job.

So, I would assume that you call from your DEV BW system the DEV BODS configuration by entering into the InfoPackage the parameter -Ksp followed by the name of the DEV system configuration i.e. -Kspcfg_ABCD_DEV and you proceed for the corresponding InfoPackages of your Q and P BW systems in the same way to call the Q and P configs of your BODS server.

I hope this is what you were searching for.

    I think its not possible.

But you can use a BAPI for changes informations in infopackage. [BAPI_IPAK_CHANGE]
