Wave for Rush Orders and other urgent orders

Hi Experts,

I have worked with wave management for general predefined orders.

We have requirement for Wave template for Rush orders which can be used immediately whenever when the order comes for Rush orders.

How the wave template for such rush orders are different from other general wave template?

How the wave determination and wave release part is different from general wave ?

Does any one have worked on Wave template for Rush orders ?

maybe the question should be asked: if you use the same delivery type - how do you distinguish rush orders from normal orders?

Hi Abhi,

Addition to above , you can try below also if it fits in your business.

ERP/ECC: If you are using Rush order for Specific Material/Customer or you can set up special Delivery Priority as Rush/Urgent Delivery in sales order/delivery by using below option

1> Maintain in Customer

2> Customer-Material Info Record( Tcode:VD51)

3> can change manually as well.

4> Enhancement for Delivery Priority update based on Sales Order Type .....certain condition...

EWM: Based on Special Delivery Priority, You can determine your own Process Type as example Rush Delivery ( Create new Process Code)and use in determination according to your delivery priority.Use this new process type for Wave Template of Rush Order Determination.

Hello Abhi,

would it be an alternative option to skip the wave for rush orders and create the WT immediately? I am afraid you should use a separate document type for that (other action profile). It works by having both PPF actions, wave assignment and WT creation, active, but he scheduling condition would get too complex which means too expensive concernign the runtime.

How do you receive your rush order delivery in EWM? Do you use separate delivery type for that? If you have separate delivery type then build a condition technique for wave template determination. This template you can set as release immediate
