Can I combine/merge 2 tables on a variables.

Have a table of employee details per month and have salary payments per month. In both tables the key is combi of personal id and month. I had to create variables for the keys because they are not available as separate field

How many objects in each query and how many needs to display in the table?

You need to merge personal id and month with second query objects and if there is no match for some objects then create those as detail variable and associate with Personal ID object.

I have added a print screen of the query. I believe i did the merge, but maybe i don't understand exactly what you mean.

It's possible with Merged dimension option in webi report. If you have some doubts then share the sample data.

Check attached link for merged dimension concept.

Thanks Amit. I have studied this method, but my problem is that i have multiple dimensions to join (ie personal id and month). When i create a variable i can only associate it with 1 dimension.

I hope below sketch makes it more clear what my problem is

I can make a report of personnel and salaries with a variable as index (personal Id and month) and save these to something i can query again. Then join on the index, i have a feeling that it can be simpler.
