Hi,
Simple solution for your question.
Please create seperate roles for Reporting and Authorization. All you need to use RSECADMIN only. Include your reports/Queries in Reporting roles which will come under obejct S_RS_COMP and Comp1.
If you want to restrict on Sales Organization, Create Analysis Authorization for Sales Org(Eg. YsalesOrg). There are 2 ways for that. Either you can create one analysis object for 1 sales org and so on or can use Customer BI Exit concept (Bit tricky). Maintain Activity, Validity and all fields there. Add Auth Object S_RS_AUTH manually in the role and you will find Analysis Auth recently created there in that object. Maintain the values for Sales org in Organizational elements.
Assign both the roles (Reporting and Analysis) to the users and undoubtly it will work. Thx.

Naveen

Hi Peter,
I am using BI-RSECADMIN.
But the thing is i don't know even basic of SAP BI Security. Can u pls explain me what is Role,Authorization & authorization objects & how to use that option? What are the steps involved in SAP BI Security.
See,client requirement is to give role to user.There will be data in an sales infocube.
Suppose i want to give x-user access for only particular sales organization i.e salesorg 1 and y-user with salesorg2.
How to do it & is it possible to maintain security at reporting level...i mean suppose there are 10 reports ...suppose i want to give user-x with 5 reports access only....for y-user with remaining 5 reports...how to do it?
Please help me out experts...

Hey,
depending on your release.
3.x -> RSSM
7.x -> RSECADMIN
For roles nothing changed -> PFCG
Best regards,
Peter
