Replicating DataSource from R/3 in BW

Hello

I am working with BW 3.5 and I'm looking for a solution to a problem for Replication DataSource from R / 3. (I am a newbie in BW)

I have a DataSource "0ACCOUNT_ATTR" that I would like to replicate in BW.

When I replicate the DataSource in BW, a message says that everything is ok (updated tree) and yet if I'll see in the table ROOSOURCE of R3, the fields "TSTPNM" and "TSTPTIM" does not update with date and time when I replicated the DataSource.

Do you know how I can do to make replication work?

Thank you for your answers and your help.

    Hello,

First check whether you are getting data for those fields in RSA3 transaction. If you are getting data, then also check that those fields are not hidden in RSA6 transaction of your DS(Double click on the DS.. check the hidden fields column. Uncheck it).

Once it is done, goto your BW system > Replicate DS > Then activate the DS

Make sure that you donot have any filtering in Dataselections tab of Infopackage.

Then try loading. You should get data for your fields if there are any.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards,

    Pavan

Hello PavanRaj_S and thank you for your reply.

In RSA3,I have 1000 records of data. (Everything is ok)

In RSA6, I have no hidden column for my DataSource. (Everything is ok)

Then again I replicated in BW and my DataSource I could make the data load. (Everything is ok)

For cons, I do not understand why the two fields "TSTPNM" and "TSTPTIM" does not update the table ROOSOURCE.

To date, I made a program that gives me an ABAP list of DataSources which must be replicated by selecting the logical system. If "TSTPNM" and "TSTPTIM" does not update on my list this means that the DataSource always appear in my list.

Is there a way to control this? Or is it that in the table ROOSOURCE there is a field that I would know if it is replicated or not?

Just for information regarding this ABAP program, I compare the dates and times from table ROOSOURCE (system logic selected) to the table RSOLTPSOURCE (in BW).

Thank you very much for your help and your suggestions at my problem.

    Hi

The Fields "TSTPNM" and "TSTPTIM" of Table ROOSOURCE of R3 will get updated if you do any changes in the R/3 Side. It does not update with date and time when the DataSource is replicated in BW.

    Thanks

Hello "suganya d" and thank you for your reply.

If I understand correctly, there is no way to know if a DataSource (R3) should be replicated or not. ???

The purpose of my ABAP program is precisely to listings of DataSources to replicate.

Thank you very much for your help.

      Hi,

If I understood your requirement correctl then..

ROOSOURCE table is there in BW as well as R/3.

it has fields for changed date and time.

      TSTPDAT

      TSTPTIM

So in BW when you see entries in these fileds then you will see the last replicated (as this is the modification in BW) time/date.

In R/3 whenyou will see the same table same fileds you will see last modified date and time. You may compare both to fullfil your requirement.

      I hope it will help.

      Thanks,

      S

    @ "Suganya d":

Thank you for the link you gave me.

There are three dates to compare to having a correct list.

In my case, I have only 2 in my tests. So I think my problem must be at this level.

    The dates in question are:

    - Date data source in R / 3. (TSTPNM "and" TSTPTIM "table ROOSOURCE (R3)).

    - Date of replication in BW. -->(" TIMESTMP "table RSOLTPSOURCE (BW))

    - ??? Date of activation of the transfer structure. -> ("CONTTIMESTMP" table RSISOSMAP (BW)) ???

I'm not on the date of activation of the transfer structure is in what I said because I do not find the same if I am in: Other Features -> Status InfoSource -> Structure transfer.

Is what you could enlighten me on this? ...

Thank you very much for your help, it drives me in my research.

    @ "Choudhary S

    Thank you for your reply.

The table ROOSOURCE exists in R / 3 and BW. When I run my program, I request parameter to indicate the logical system. Under the system indicated, I will be in search of ROOSOURCE ROOSOURCE either BW or R / 3.

To this day, when I reply a DataSource from the table ROOSOURCE BW, there is no problem, everything works. The two fields "TSTPDAT" and "TSTPTIM 'begin to date.

By cons, when I reply a DataSource from the table ROOSOURCE R / 3, there is no update of 2 fields is done and from what I understood by reading the subject that is the link "suganya of" me, this is normal ly would curry a 3rd date in a third table (and more ROOSOURCE RSOLTPSOURCE) that should be used to my conditions.

    @ ALL:

Really, thank you very much for all the details and answer all these ...

If you still can just confirm that the activation date of the transfer structure is in the table: "RSISOSMAP" in the field: "CONTTIMESTMP" it would be great.

Thank you all for your help.

    HI,

we have two type of extractors i.e. Generic Extractor and Apllication Specific Extractors.

1.when we dont have business content extartors which does not suit the business requirement then we go for using Generic data source and explictily we need create generic data source using the Transaction RSo2.

For more information check below links

    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d3219af2-0c01-0010-71ac-dbb4356cf4bf?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true

2.Apllication Specific Extractors are statndard data sources that are delivered by SAP so we can use them directly from changnign deliverd version to active version using transacation RSA5.

Steps to use standard data sources:

    1. go to transcation /RSA5 and change from delivery version to active version

    2. go to transaction /nrsa6 and check wheather that data source is avlaible in active version or not once u got conformation then

    3. got LBWE transaction and change the extract structure based on requirement.

    4. And choose the update mode.

    5. Activate the data source.

    Hope it will help u.

    Thanks and Regards,

    khaja
