Two BW system connecting one ERP source system possible?

Hi experts,

We have one ERP system (ECC 6.0), from where data will be extracted to two BW systems.

Logical system name and RFC for ERP: RD1-100

Logical system names and RFC for BW: BW1-100, BW2-100 respectively

for the first connection BW1 with RD1, no issue, everything is fine. however, when I tried to connect BW2-100 with RD1-100, I got the message "Connection BH is used in RD1-100 source system as a connection BW1-100 to BW, do you want to delete it?".

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks and regards,

Sally

Your Basis team needs to assign a unique source system ID to the second BW system.

Take a look at table RSSOURSYSTEM on each BW system. They need to have a different two digit identifier from each other.

Hi Luther,

thanks for the advise.

I checked in both BW systems, in the table mentioned we have different source system IDs (B1 and B2 respectively).

In ERP RD1, the table mentioned is empty.

any other suggestions?

Thanks and regards,

Sally

Hrmn, you will need to get with Basis. I know they can override it to propose a different two-digit ID for the connection name. Or perhaps the ECC system needs to have a different ID in each BW system. As you can tell, this is about the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

it is possible.

Need to have two source system name/id. Get that done with any BASIS consultant.

I hope it will help.

Thanks,
