X86 Runtimes won't install on any of the Windows XP Machines in our office. It gets to the Install Deployment portion and then starts throwing a Visual C++ Runtime Library Error saying "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 redistributable packs are installed as well as .net 4.0
sigh.. well the hits just keep on coming. Enabled the windows logger and it didn't log anything. It throws the error every time it changes the install object so after hitting ok about 5 million times and telling it not to send an error report 5million more times it was a little disappointing to not have a log file to look at.

To add to Ludek's questions, do you have any other CR product intsalled on this machine, including other Beta versions?
I have WinXP SP3 and have successfully installed the x86 runtime packages successfully so there could be something on the machine that is conflicting with the VC++ runtime installations.
Thanks,
Mandeep
These are Windows XP sp3 machines and they are not from the same image. The only thing that i can think of that is the same is that they had the 2008 sp3 redistributable installed for the quick fix and i uninstalled it before installing the cr2010 x86 runtime pack.

Try deleting the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0 if it still exists also and then try re-install.
Then delete all files in your \Temp folders that are not locked. Close everything you can before doing so.
And then test again on a clean PC that has not had any previous installs of CR.
Thank you
Don
Yes i saw all the threads where they are trying to install from a network drive. The original file is on the computer and extracted into a folder on the c:/ drive of that computer also. It says i have admin privileges and .net installed at the beginning of the install, then it starts to install and says "Caching Deployment Units" once it finishes doing that it switches to "updating install manifest with install delta" and then switches to "Test Action" where it promptly throws the above error. I then click ok and it goes on to the next thing and throws it again and again until it makes it through all the modules and it says that it has been successfully installed but none of the reports will generate.

As much as I hate to throw more work at you (e.g.; I do wish this would just work - it did for me, but I also understand that does not mean much as far as you the customer is concerned). Can you run installer logs and see if something jumps out at you? The link below should prove helpful with that:
