MII on virtual server

Hi all,

from the Best Practices Guide:

"MII can be deployed on virtual server as well as physical server configurations because of NetWeaveru2019s virtualization capabilities."

Does anyone have deployed MII + NWCE and/or UDS on a virtual server? Maybe the need of memory and network is a concern for this type of app.

I often refer people to this location for more insight into virtualization: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/virtualization

Many, if not most of the internal dev/test servers we work with here at SAP are virtual servers, and from an interaction standpoint we don't even know the difference.

Hi, Jeremy.

I mean productive use. On [note 1409608 - Virtualization on Windows|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1409608] I found that all NW Java applications are supported in virtualized environments as in non-virtualized environments, as long the problem isn't related to performance or the hypervisor. The same note states that some applications, like TREX and MDW, aren't suitable for virtualization since they are resource-intensive, even considering resource reservation on the host. I wonder if MII is this kind of restricted app, since it can do a lot of communication and memory use.
