Try to "Set Datasource Location" for the saved report. You can recreate connection and update the report.

While in "Set Datasource Location" dialog you can compare the properties of the original connection and the properties of the new connection. Saved report may be pointing to a driver that does not exist anymore.

Nice thought but you shouldn't have to do this every time you open and save the report. It makes it impossible to use in production. This is not the solution. The error is occurring right after creating the report from scratch with a new connection, save the report, close crystal reports, reopen and refresh. Then up comes the error message.

    Hi David,

Microsoft's Oracle driver only supports Oracle 7 and will not work very well with newer versions.

Install Oracle's Client and use that one.

Why it works one time I don't know... but it should not work at all. Likely some filtering happening.

    Don
