Memory configuration

Dear SAP colleagues,

Our P11 ECC 6.0 is composed of the following systems :

1. P11 as CI has 12 GB memory (server : srmp11_00)

2. P11 as AS01 has 8 GB memory (server : srmp11_01)

3. P11 as AS02 has 8 GB memory ((server : srmp11_02)

We are adding 4 GB to our CI server (srmp11_00).

We will have then 16 GB RAM instead 12 GB.

Do you know which SAP instance parameters must be changed in RZ10 ?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Best regards

What is your OS and database ? Any particular reason you are increasing memory ?

system is dual stack or single stack.. There is no enough information to help you..

Hello Sunny,

You are right, I did not provide enough information.

1. P11 is running on a Windows Server 2003.

2. We are using Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 database

3. P11 is an ABAP standalone

4. As SAP ECC 6.0 system, P11 provides information to P31 (BI System).

11 GB of 12 are regularly occupied in CI.

7 GB of 8 GB are regularly occupied of both AS.

We have decided to increased the memory of P11 CI because memory is regularly fully at 95 %.

When P31 (BI) starts to collects data in P11 (SAP ECC 6.0), sometimes, the process chain in P11 takes

18 hours. Some other days, it only takes 8 hours.

Best regards

Hi,

First check your database parameters with the help of SAP note 830576 and 1171650.

For SAP, check SAP Note 146289 - Parameter Recommendations for 64-Bit SAP Kernel

Note 789011 - FAQ: Oracle memory areas

Note 88416 - Zero administration memory management as of 4.0A/ Windows

Thanks

Sunny
