Hi,
When I uncheck "Display Duplicate Variables Only Once" box in workbook setting, same variables show up e.g. period, year for multiple data provider (single query). Is there any way to show the common variables only once and leave the specific variable display once for each data provider e.g. company code?
Thanks.
Hi,
Just use the same variables (technical exactly same object) in alll the queries for same info object.
Check "Display dup0licate variable only once".
I hope it will help.
Thanks,
S

Thanks. But for one variable e.g. company code I need to populate different selection value for different data providers even they are from a single query. Any thoughts? Maybe macros? I need to be able to create multiple tabs with same query but different view. When selection screen opens up, I only need to have period and year variable populate once for all the data providers but company code variable value should be different for each data provider.
Hi Janice,
You can check the Option Display Variable values only once.
Thie you will the variables being displayed only once eventhough they are used in Multiple Data provider.
If you want som variable to be data provider specific, then , you can create a new variable and add it int eh query.
For example in your case let us say COMP1 is the variable for company code used in DP1 and DP2.
If you want a different values to be selected for company code in DP1 and DP2 just replce the variable in DP2 with a new variabel COMP2.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Shafi.
Thanks. Can you provide with more details. How can I use multiple variables for a single query in multiple data providers? In the workbook setting, I know you can define same query with different data provider but I'm not sure how to assign different variable to different data provider (using same query).
Thanks agian.
