Portal Master Rule collection

Hi,

I want to create approx 1000+ rules in Master rule collection for some requirement. Could anybody clarify my below d

1. Is there any limitation to the number of rules in the master rule collection?

2. Any negative impact on the portal server performace because of more number of rules?
