disp+work.exe started but then stopped

Former Member

Dear All,

I have installed SAP on Windows 2003 and database is Oracle 10g with SYSTEM ID 'TST'.

I have taken Oracle EXPORT DUMP from Production system which is on HP-UX (SYSTEM ID 'PRD') and IMPORT in TST database.

Now when I start SAP disp+work.exe started but then stopped.

Is it due to diffrent SYSTEM ID on production and test system?

I have check port no. it is ok.

Thanks in advance,

Nirav

Hi,

I think your are trying to do OS/DB Migration... You have to use the Heterogeneous System Copy process to do it.

For doing this migration you have to generate the migration also.

Which process did you used to take Export of Production database (Oracle Export)?

Thanks,

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it is OS/DB Migration.

I am using Oracle Export/Import utility.

Hi,

Please refer System Copy guide for this. All steps are given there for

Prepration on Source System

Export Source System

Prepration on Target System

Import on Target System

Post Processing after system copy.

I am assuming that you are on ABAP stack & ECC 6.0, please refer guide https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/instguides>SAP Business Suite Applications>SAP ERP 6.0>Installation>System Copy for SAP Systems Based on NW 7.0 SR3 ABAP

Hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Sachin

You should not use Oracle tools to perform a heterogeneous system copy, but SAP tools (R3load). This is automatically done when you are using sapinst to perform your copy.

Kind regards,

................Dirty process of installation.............

What is the exact error of dev_w0 log file?

Why you are using other system's Oracle export to install new system? Have you gone through Install guide?

Thanks for your reply.

After installation I have to apply so many patches. I take import of production database, now I have to apply only kernel patch.

Below is the some part of trace file of dev_disp.
