SUBSTITUTION ?

Hi experts,

I am having confusion in Substitution part.

I need the steps for Active Substitution and the Passive Substitution.

What i understand is ADOPT SUBSTITUTION is nothing but PASSIVE SUBSTITUTION.

Maintain Substitution is ACTIVE SUBSTITUTION...

Please guide me if i am wrong...
