Hello everyone,
We are trying to create bill of material in "purchasing".. Our customer do not have PP module so how can we create BOM in MM module ??

You can maintain Main item and child item with item category 'L' in Subcontracting Purchase order.
Hi,
If you are doing subcontracting then it is not necessary to create BOM for the same.
In PO with itel category 'L' you can maintain child items at item level in 'components' tab.

Why do you want to use BOM in "purchasing".. If you want to use 'subcontracting', Please make Univarsal BOM.
(BOM Usage: 3).

If BOM material requirement for Sub contract process.
Create BOM(CS01) material as Production BOM--> BOM status 1
that not mean that this BOM only for production. this will have all field & screen.

I understand your solution but the problem is that we do not want to activate PP module.. in order to create bom from cs01 we have to go under production isnt it ??
Do you have any idea for creating bom except from cs01

Take the navigation like below:
SAP easy access>MM>Foreigntrade&custom >General foreign trade processing>environment-->Material BOM.
