Backup on tapes

Dear Members,

I have a query regarding db2 backup in tape drive...

Recently we have implemented SAP ECC 6.0 with DB2 9.1.7 on windows server 2008 OS, now the problem is we are unable to take backup on tape drive.

We want to configure backup device as TAPE drive (model : IBM ULT 3580-HH4 SCSI SeqentialDevice)

When i tried to initialize the tape by giving the following DB2 command,

C:\Users\db2dev>db2 initialize tape on
.\TAPE0

DB21060E General tape failure.

Please give us some inputs and we are using windows server 2008 as operating system.
