Hello Gurus
Hoping for some help. I've seen the posts regarding SPL sensitivity and they have been pretty useful (to a certain extent, my understanding isn't brilliant), however I have a question.
I have an SPL entry SAN SAN YI, this hits against every single customer with the word SAN in their name, for example, SAN DIEGO ZOO, SAN ANTONIO FIRE DEPT etc etc,
I also have similar issues with other really common words such as TRADING, INTERNATIONAL, COMPANY, LIMITED etc etc..... can anyone help with how i can stop the really common words hitting the sales orders????
Thanks
Tom
Hi, thanks for the info, however, I have the issue where my SPL entry is SAN SAN YI, so even is SAN is entered on the excluded text list, shouldn't the YI search term still block??
Thanks
Tom

The SPL looks at the string "SAN SAN YI". If this was initially under the DPL (denied party list) and after you have put SAN in exclusion list, "YI" should also get a hit. But for "YI" to get a hit, it should be in any of the DPL. In the simulation (check general address) try to put YI in Name 1 field and see if system brings you a hit or good to go.
In my case i found a Hit on "YI" under the BOE list (YI HTWE HTWE).
Hi Tom,
Lets say in the config you have maintained "Search term" percentage as 70% and "original Form" percentage as "51%". So in that case the search term of indiviudal words in the name have to match at least 70%. Of the full name, at least 51% of the words have to match.
Lets take example of "SAN SAN YI" based on above percentage.
Lets say SPL entry is "YI Lang"
YI has 2 letters in common with YI- SPL entry (YI Lang); hence the match is 2/2 or 100% > 70% threshold of search term.
Then as you marked "San" inexclusion list it will not be considered for comparison. so you are left with YI only in "SAN SAN YI".
"SAN SAN YI" has only one search term- as YI. Based on search term settings one out of one i considered a match. That means 1/1. Based on "Original Form" threshold of 51%, 1/1= 100% >51% is considered a match.
You can tweak with the percentages in config as per your business requirements.
Hope this will help.

Dushyant
Just an addition to this, I added the search term SAN to the excluded text list and now the SPL check wont hit against SAN SAN YI when i run an address check

Hi Tom,
Words that are added to Excluded texts lists are too general to be considered for comparison. System ignores these words during indexing which means they are not even part of comparison when GTS screens partners and documents. Thats why after adding SAN to excluded texts list, it will not be considered.
You can add words such as TRADING, INTERNATIONAL, COMPANY, LIMITED etc here to avoid their comparisons.
You can reduce the SPL Matching sensitivity (for Search term & Original Form) in the configuration to reduce maximum hits against word SAN.
IMG>>SAP Complaiance Management>>'Sanctioned Party list Screening' Service>> Define Control Procedure for address comparison.
