Hello Expert,
In a SAP HANA Cloud Connector - Failover configuration (HIgh Availability). Should everything be configured on master instance, such as : SSL certificate, RFC with SNC, LDAP before connecting the shadow instance?
Thanks in advance,
Má
Hi Marilia,
I believe the following documentation should help in answering your question:
Install a Failover Instance for High Availability
Master and Shadow Administration
In the first link it states "During the setup of high availability, the master pushes the whole configuration to the shadow. Later on, during a normal operation, the master also pushes configuration updates to the shadow, whenever the configuration is changed. Thus, the shadow instance is kept synchronized with the master instance."
So the master instance should be configured first and the configuration will be pushed to the shadow, I hope this answers your question.

Hi Marilia
Try installing a shadow instance (just unpack a portable version and start it), and going to the Shadow Connector => Shadow Configuration view. Here you'll see exactly what you can configure on the shadow. The UI certificate is not pushed to the shadow (it's tied to the host name of a particular instance), and neither is the master's LDAP configuration. However, everything related to the SCP subaccount, the configured backend systems and the configured resources on those systems, is pushed from the master to the shadow.
Regards,
Morten
Edit: I just noticed that this question is from December 2016... Sorry about the late answer 🙂
